Special Mission - "CRASH LANDING"

"CRASH LANDING"
In this special mission both players are attempting to locate and capture a damaged aircraft that is entering the planet's atmosphere. The aircraft could be owned by one of the sides or perhaps contains some valuable intel, technology or individual that each side wants to either capture or destroy. Conflict breaks out at the projected crash landing zone until the aircraft blazes in and crash lands at a random location on the board. Both sides will then scramble to get to the objective point and control it.

DEPLOYMENT
Roll on standard mission deployment chart.

OBJECTIVE
The player that controls the Objective point with a scoring unit at the end of the game is the victor.

MISSION SPECIAL RULES
Deep Strike, Reserves, and use of the Standard Mission Game Length.

Coming In Hot: Unlike regular objective points, this one isn't on the board at the beginning of the game. Starting from turn 2 onwards at the beginning of each player's turn they roll on the chart below to see if the damaged aircraft will arrive.

Turn d6 Roll
2 6
3 5
4 4
5 automatic

Incoming
When the damaged aircraft does arrive place the objective marker representing it in the center of the board, this will be the projected landing point. The player whose turn it is then rolls 2d6 scatter and moves the objective marker to this new point, this is the point of impact. Place the large blast marker centered over the point of impact, all models touching the blast marker suffer a Str 10 AP1 hit.

Point of Impact
The crashed aircraft will then proceed to move 3d6 in a direction determined by a scatter dice roll as it plows through the ground to its final resting place. Treat the objective point's movement from the point of impact to its final resting place as if it were a vehicle performing a tank shock with front armour 14. If you are not using an actual model to represent the aircraft then assume the width of the aircraft is the diameter of the large blast marker for the purposes of tank shock. If the aircraft rams another vehicle and stops as per the rules for tank shock then do not move it any further. If the aircraft comes into contact with models that are in close combat then that close combat is automatically disengaged and units on both sides must take a morale test for tank shock, if they pass they will consolidate 6" in any direction but must remain 1" away from each other. If the aircraft comes in contact with impassable terrain or the edge of the board it stops there at that point.

Final Resting Place
Finally once the tank shock has been resolved the aircraft suffers a single penetrating hit. The final resting place of the aircraft (destroyed or not) is the objective point that both sides need to capture. Standard objective capture rules apply. Scoring units within 3" can claim and contest the objective, non-scoring units within 3" can only contest the objective.
